Vladimir Lande, Conductor

Vladimir Lande is the Music Director and Conductor of Siberian State Symphony Orchestra (Krasnoyarsk, Russia). Starting in 2008 he has been The Principal Guest Conductor of St.Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra.

Vladimir Lande is The Music Director and The Conductor of "Washington Soloists” Chamber Orchestra also a Guest conductor of the National Gallery of Art Symphony Orchestra and the Music Director of COSMIC Symphony Orchestra.

In January of 2015 Maestro Lande led the St.Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra on a highly successful tour of 11 concerts in major cities in US.

In October of 2014 Maestro Lande conducted the All Gershwin program , in Volgograd ( with The Volgograd Symphony Orchestra ) in Novgorod . Imatra (Finland) and in St.Petersburg.

With The St.Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra .The highlight of that Tour was a collaboration with baritone Kevin Short who was singing a part in Porgy and Bess.

In 2014 he has conducted Washington Soloists Orchestra in a series of concerts in Washington, DC; New York City; and Virginia, and in 2014-15, he has conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma (Rome Symphony Orchestra) and has led the St. Petersburg State Symphony on a tour of South Korea.

In the 2012-2013 season, Lande led the St. Petersburg State Symphony on their hugely successful tour of South Korea, and also led the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra on a Latin American tour incuding Brazil (two concerts in Sala São Paulo), Argentina, Peru and Ecuador. The same season, he guest conducted the National Chamber Orchestra of Chile "Camerata" in Santiago de Chile, released two new CDs on Delos with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra (the Shostakovich Cello Concertos with Dmity Kouzov and works of Sean Hickey) and two CDs on the Naxos label (music by M. Weinberg). All CDs released got rave reviews.

In 2011 Maestro Lande led the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra on its 24-concert "Tour of the Americas" including nine countries and the most famous concert halls in the USA (Alice Tully Hall in New York, Symphony Hall in Boston, Kimmel Hall in Philadelphia, Meyerhoff Hall in Baltimore, etc.) as well as the most prestigious venues in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Peru, Chile and Uruguay.

Maestro Lande has guest-conducted the Baltimore Symphony, the National Gallery Orchestra (in Washington D.C. and on a U.S. tour); the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, and Baltimore Opera Orchestra. He regularly conducts the famous Donetsk Ballet Company Orchestra, and is Music Director of the COSMIC Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Soloists Chamber Orchestra in Washington D.C.

Maestro Lande has conducted the opening concerts of the internationally renowned White Nights Festival including a performance in the Grand Philharmonic Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has also been Music Director and Conductor of the Contemporary American Music Festival in Washington, D.C. Recent tours have taken him to New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom (including a performance in Cathedral St. Martin's in the Field, London), Italy, Russia, and throughout the United States.

Maestro Lande has an extraordinarily active recording career. His CDs of Schubert’s Unfinished and Great Symphonies were released on Brilliant Classic in the summer of 2011, as was a CD of American composer James Aikman's music on Naxos. Also for Naxos, he is recording a 17-CD cycle of the complete symphonic works of the neglected Russian composer Mieczslaw Weinberg. In June of 2011 Maestro Lande also launched a series of video recordings for Naxos of "Concerts from the Palaces of St. Petersburg.” Forthcoming are multiple high-definition video projects with the St. Petersburg Symphony. His many other recording projects include works by Respighi and Castelnuovo-Tedesco, contemporary works for "Parma Recordings” label, among many others.

Vladimir Lande's vision for contemporary music crosses genre boundaries, as in such ground-breaking projects as "Concerto for Chef and Orchestra," and, together with the perfume industry in France, "The Fragrance of Sound."

Vladimir Lande has collaborated with many of today's leading soloists and rising stars, including Hilary Hahn, Olga Kern, Denis Matsuev, Dmitry Kouzov, Xiayin Wang, Peter Laul, Maxim Mogilevsky, Eldar Nebolsin, Tianwa Yang, Gary Louie, Eugene Ugorski and Marika Bournaki, Nikolay Lugansky, Alexander Knyazev and Andrei Gavrilov.
